About  NTU CTS

The Center for Theoretical Sciences at the National Taiwan University (NTU CTS) was established in 2006. The aim of the NTU CTS are threefold: (a) to become a world leading center in frontier basic science research; (b) to provide an intellectually stimulating environment to educate and train students and young scientists; and (c) to foster interdisciplinary interactions and collaborations across various disciplines , and to promote international corporation.

Currently the Center has 24 faculty members from the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry. Many of the members are already leading experts in their respective research fields. Research interests of the center members include: Particle and Nuclear Physics, String Theory and Cosmology; Condensed Matter Physics; Statistics, Non-linear Dynamics and Soft Matter Physics; Atomic, Molecular and Optics; Physical Chemistry; and Computational Sciences.

Student education is a high priority at the Center. Student fellowships have been set up to encourage graduate students to study theoretical sciences and award them for excellent research work.

The Center has close collaborations with Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Institute of Astrophysics, Center for Condensed Matter Physics of NTU, Institute of Physics of Academia Sinica, and National Center for Theoretical Sciences in organizing activities and sharing resources to have a coherent effort to bring research to world class excellence.

關於台大理論科學中心

國立臺灣大學理論科學中心（NTU CTS）成立於2006年。本中心有三個具體目標：

a) 成為一流前沿科學研究中心。

b) 提供教育學生及年輕研究人員的優質學術環境。

c) 提供不同領域學術交流與合作平台以及促進國際合作。

本中心現有24名來自物理和化學系的教授成員。很多成員都有相當的研究經驗並為各自領域的專家。中心成員主要研究方向有：粒子與核子物理，弦論和宇宙學；凝聚態物理；統計學，非線性動力學和軟性物質物理；原子，分子及光學物理；物理化學;和計算科學等領域。

學生教育是本中心重點之一。中心已設置獎學金以鼓勵學生進入理論科學研究和獎勵學生完成優質科研論文。

本中心和臺大物理系，化學系，天文物理所，凝態物理中心，中研院物理所，以及國家理論科學中心有著密切互動，共同舉辦活動，共用資源，一起為提升至世界一流研究水準共同努力。
